Will living on the lake ever get old?

I love that yesterday, my dh stepped out of the trailer and said, "We live here!" I think this thought often and think of how blessed we are on a daily basis.

God is good and we get the chance to see his wondrous works everyday and living out here on this peaceful lake I take more time to think about all he has given us.

The Sweetest Sound...

It is summer vacation…my five and seven year old have learned that it is ok to sleep past 7 am…I am enjoying a cup of coffee and getting laundry folded before the rush of the day begins. Then, I hear the sound of my seven year olds bed as he wakens… (I keep thinking I am going to add a few more screws to his bed so it quits making this sound, but now am kind of use to it and think it might be nice as he gets older – there will be no sneaking out of his bed.)   I kept waiting to hear his pitter patter down the stairs and in search of me…so I can hear the normal morning requests, “Can I watch TV? and/or Can I play Wii with you?” Not this morning…instead I hear him moving around upstairs and not coming down. Have a Little Faith...

Need a good book to read? I finished one this summer that I truly enjoyed by the author, Mitch Albom, who also wrote, “Tuesdays with Morie.” I picked it up at my parents’ house…thank you to my sister-n-law, who does not even know that I have it, for letting me borrow it. I am really enjoying it. Probably a good book to read at this phase of my life.   It is not often that I want to highlight a book as I read it..this is one that I am jotting down all of my favorite phrases as I read…here are a few… Faith is about doing. You are how you act, not just how you believe. Mom, you're not listening with your eyes. Jesus -  He lifts me up. He rearranges me.  He repositions me.  By myself, I’m no good… But he makes all the difference. "Kick a Bug Juice"

A while back I was tackling that uncontrollable pile of magazines that always acculmulates in my house. I came across a recipe for "kick a bug" juice. I hung it on the cupboard and thought I would use it the next time I was sick. Well, about six months later...I have a head cold that is just lingering on. Mom of two little ones being a the slightest bit sick is no fun at all. So I threw together the "kick the bug" juice. I just so happend to have all the ingredients on hand.
