An Attempt to Summarize and Catch Up

Image
July 11th Last night I got my wish to camp on the property! I have been suggesting that we try camping at the property for over a year now. I think it would be easy to say that it didn't go as planned. It was nice watching the sun set and listening to all the different sounds of country life. We were going to set up our tent and camp...but then after we got there, we thought well why not just put the air mattresses in the house and camp there. Good thought when it was blazing hot and the thought of being a in a tent at that time made you sweat. The middle of the night is not so hot and it still cools off quite a bit. Toby and the boys cuddled onto one air mattress. We had planned on having two, but that was before we looked for the air pump for over an hour...it is probably in the one box that I did not look in. Addie playing while I looked for the missing air pump.  Any wonder why I was not able to find the pump..this is a glimpse inside of our trailer.  I slept in th

Whirlwind...

Sometimes this adventure is like a whirlwind of an adventure. Today is Friday a business day, but luckily Toby has the day off. When your life is traveling from place to place there is a lot to do when you're back on the homefront. Our list of to dos...today begins with: checking the mail random doctor appointment  purchase a wedding shower gift going to the chiropractor fixing the bathroom fan at the rental house: our first landlord call...  find stuff to camp for the next two days run to pick up prescriptions stop by the bank meet our builder the list goes on isn't it funny how it all adds up... So yes, this was the plan. We decided to conquer and divide. Toby headed to run some errand and I headed to the doctor with Addie.  This past week when we were at my sister's house, my sister noticed that one of Addie's legs appeared to be a little more swollen that the other. I did not stress our about it too much and talked with Toby about it when we

Birthday Evening

So this evening we are planning an evening at the DuPont Hilton Hotel. I'm sure the boys will get to swim Addy will get to roll around wherever she likes and Toby and I hopefully will get to enjoy enjoy a glass of wine to celebrate my 40 again birthday... Turns out, Toby had a babysitter come to the hotel for the boys and Toby, Addie and I went to dinner down in Nisqually. A view of the ferries and water...fish and a cocktail for dinner. A peaceful setting and great company...no better way to spend my 41st birthday!  Oh and I almost forgot to mention...Toby surprised me with a paddle board for a present. A wish list item now for quite some time for myself and the boys.  Can't wait to try it out on the lake...correction...our lake.

Adventure Continues...Now "Homeless"

Image
Okay must preface this....I have not proofread all of this...I am trying so hard to get caught up to today...and will be coming back to proofread.  Thanks for understanding.  After being completely moved out of our home, tenants checked in and our family virtually homeless we were still planning on trying to carry on normal life. Our first weekend "homeless", was the 4th of July weekend. The 4th we were still at our friends' home and spent the evening out at our lake for a rehearsal dinner/4th of July celebration. The next night was our first night hoteling it, we stayed right downtown Oly...which is fun staying in a hotel in your town. Kind of like a night away but not having to travel! Toby loved the fact that he could wake up and walk to the market with one of the boys. It was very nice being right downtown.  As a side note... we are so not homeless...we are so fortunate to be blessed with more than we need every day! We are building a home that is truly the hom

"Home" Turned Rental

Image
The end of the month was here and it was time to turn "Our Home" over to the new tenants. A great day but also a day full of remembering. A friend asked me if I was emotional at some point during this month...I took a moment and thought..."Me, emotional about leaving this house?" I had not been thinking about it, I was so busy packing, cleaning, taking care of a baby and boys too, as well as still working on new house stuff. I had not thought about getting emotional and what I was leaving. From that moment on, I tried to remove myself from the moment a little and allow myself to feel and think about a few emotions other than the current To-Do list.  While I was trying to take in a few more emotions as I packed up one house and planned the next we still ended to come up with a plan on where we were going to be living...our plan was to hotel it for the first week of July. But some friends were going to head out of town for a family vacation right at the end of June

Our Family Adventure...

The walls on the new home... This summer we are building our dream home on Valley Lake. Which brings us to a new and exciting adventure. I have had so many friends ask me, "You should write a book about this." "I sure hope you are journalling all of this." and "I am sure you are scrapbooking all of this, right?" So...I am finally getting to it...going back to where the adventure kind of began...and trying to get caught up to current day as quickly as possible.  It all started when we decided to keep our current home as a rental instead of selling it. I had this great idea to put it on the market in June. (Our home was not going to be finished until about October or November and what family wants to rent and move into a house at that time? After school has already started and the holidays are quickly approaching.) Also, we travel a lot during the summers so why not put our home for rent at the beginning of the summer and if it rented then great we

"Where did you sleep last night?"

Image
July 16th and 17th I had the chance to meet with our builder over breakfast. Then the kids and I packed up and got ready to go...still not sure where I wanted to go...the plan was still to head to Eastern Washington to camp. My gut was just not there. I felt like I should stay close for a bit and besides Toby flew back in on Thursday and then our whole family could go over to Eastern Washington together and in one car.  As I headed out of town, we stopped to visit a friend and her kiddos. The boys do just miss hanging out and playing with some of their friends. I miss my time with the other moms/friends as well. So it was very nice to see them as we headed out of town. This is the friend that I always chuckle at her texts...she sent me one that asked, "Where did you sleep last night?" Funny how texts are sent in one tone and can be received in another. I had to laugh and think back to the day when circumstances were definitely different and I might of been asked that sa
