Getting Closer..

Day 116

Our camping life is slowly coming to a close. I CAN’T WAIT!!!
Day by day there is progress in the house and almost all of the decisions are made, now we wait for the work to be completed. Never fast enough, patience is truly a gift from above! 

It is really amazing to look back at the entire process and how it all played out…seems like just yesterday that we were discussing the foundation. 

At this time, the painter is touching up the trim and painting it, while he waits for nice days to paint the outside. The cabinet installer is here installing most of the cabinets, while the rest of the cabinets are being built. The contractor’s worker is here in and out doing odd end things waiting for his next job. Today, the pressure tank was moved into the garage as well as the power for it. Now we can back fill and get the ground ready for the rest of the concrete pours…on that next sunny day? The driveway is getting muddier and bumpier day by day with each rainfall. Tomorrow, cabinets are measured for countertops and the laminate install begins. 


The entire house is truly glorious…a dream come true…a dream that is so much bigger than I could of ever imagined…I cannot wait to have our family in it and enjoying it daily!

"Kick a Bug Juice"

A while back I was tackling that uncontrollable pile of magazines that always acculmulates in my house. I came across a recipe for "kick a bug" juice. I hung it on the cupboard and thought I would use it the next time I was sick. Well, about six months later...I have a head cold that is just lingering on. Mom of two little ones being a the slightest bit sick is no fun at all. So I threw together the "kick the bug" juice. I just so happend to have all the ingredients on hand. I am not sure if it is the mixture that is kicking the bug or the thought of actually drinking this concoction that makes one think themself better. Another try at WHOLE 30.

Here I go with another try at a Whole 30. On my second week of Cross Fit and ready to make a serious change with my eating and my body....something needs to give here. Getting down to one pair of jeans left in my closet and I refuse to buy any more until I am back to where I know I can be....so LET's DO THIS....Both feet in! DAY ONE was May Day - May 1st. Breakfast - Scrambled Eggs with Sautéed Red Peppers and Onions Mixed in with a small side of shredded potatoes. Lunch - Shredded Beef on top of Cauliflower Rice. Dinner - Hamburgers and I had mine on an Eggplant Bun. Snacks....Apples and Watermelon DAY TWO Already want to let it go....got a bad case of allergies on Day One and it had my head just all clogged up for my first back to real life day of the week...you know husband is off in Nebraska working and kids at school. I headed to Cross Fit...Check - Got that in...Last part of the WOD, a mile run, I got the 800 meter mark and there went my knee....so much pain
